Jane Prophet is a Professor in the School of Creative Media, City University, Hong Kong.
She is British visual artist who combines mixed media, light and computation to make installations, panoramic photographs and sculptures from mathematical data. She completed her PhD at Warwick University and her BA Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam. Her research interests include landscape design and sustainability, biological systems and artificial life. Feminist technoscience underpins her collaborative works with life scientists and her practice-based interdisciplinary research has been recognized with a current Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship from the Hong Kong Research Council to work with neuroscientists on a series of MRI experiments to explore death and contemplation as well as an earlier UK National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts for interdisciplinary research.
